Abstract

The evolution of medicine has progressed alongside scientific discoveries, technological advancements, and changing healthcare needs. Modern medicine has achieved remarkable progress through evidence-based approaches and advanced technologies; however, integrating humanities into medical practice is essential for a holistic approach to patient care. Understanding the patient beyond the disease by considering their emotions, values, experiences, social background, and individual needs enhances the therapeutic relationship. Incorporating humanities into medical education and clinical practice helps healthcare professionals develop empathy, communication skills, and a patient-centred approach. The integration of patient history with the principles of humanities provides a broader perspective in diagnosis, treatment planning, and overall healthcare delivery. This approach emphasizes the importance of balancing technological advancement with compassionate care to improve the quality of medical practice.
