Abstract

Mucuna pruriens (Kapikacchu) is an important medicinal plant used in Ayurveda for its therapeutic benefits, particularly in neurological and reproductive disorders. The seeds are rich in bioactive compounds, including L-DOPA, which contributes to its role in improving motor functions in Parkinson’s disease. Clinical evidence suggests that Mucuna pruriens powder provides comparable motor benefits to conventional levodopa therapy with fewer adverse effects and reduced dyskinesia. The drug possesses potential neuroprotective and rejuvenating properties, supporting its traditional application in neurological health.
