Ayurvedic hospitals and pharmaceutical units generate various organic, biomedical, and treatment-related wastes that require sustainable management strategies to prevent environmental contamination. The value addition of these wastes through methods such as anaerobic composting, biogas generation, microbial conversion, and recycling can transform medicinal residues, food waste, and industrial by-products into useful resources like organic manure, biofuel, enzymes, and agricultural inputs. Implementation of eco-friendly waste management models such as Thumboormoozhi and collaborative research initiatives can support sustainable healthcare practices while promoting organic cultivation and environmental conservation
